HOW WE HELP

Financial support is provided at the discretion of the Trustees who maintain a capital base to generate income to cover appropriate needs.

By nature the charity takes a low profile, and endeavours to act in a confidential and supportive way on receipt of information relating to a cancer sufferer. This may be relayed by direct approach to any of the Trustees or advised by way of a relative, a close friend, or if agreed, by the patient's Doctor.

Alderney Cancer Relief is ostensibly an organisation providing financial assistance but, after many years involvement with other related organisations, is also in a position to provide useful information for patients and relatives travelling off island for treatment.

Alderney Cancer Relief has funds available to help ease some of the financial worries that island residents affected by cancer may have.

Please discuss any requests for financial assistance with your specialist nurse or G.P. or contact Alderney Cancer Relief directly.

All requests will be considered, and assistance if appropriate will be given promptly.

The Trust can help with:

  • Air Fares for accompanying relative/chaperone when a patients travels off island for treatment or consultation.

  • Accommodation and other travel costs for an accompanying relative or carer.

  • Household Fuel Grant.
