Off island travel conditions may vary and initially should be confirmed with the States Office Tel: 820000.

Currently patient’s air fares are covered by the Employment & Social Security Dept (ESS) following referral From Health and Social Care.

To arrange flights to Guernsey the Alderney States Office requires a copy of an appointment letter or a travel warrant instruction from your G.P. For UK appointments a TAG form is required. This can be arranged by telephoning the referring specialist in Guernsey.

This referral should be taken to the States Office who will then contact Click Travel and book the required flights and raise related tickets.

If a carer or companion is travelling a fully flexible ticket can also be booked but has to be paid for at the time. ACR in most cases will if contacted contribute towards such costs.

Other carriers than Aurigny may also be considered and these options should be raised at the States Office.

N.B. Where applicable the patient’s off-island treatment provider should be made aware of liaising with the Bailiwick medical services to facilitate this procedure.

Cancer treatment support should be progressed through the patient’s G.P. or Specialist Nurse.
